New Ebola numbers show disease has killed half of those it has infected...!!!

The latest numbers show that the Ebola virus has killed 1,552 out of 3,069 known patients, the World Health Organization said Thursday.

The deadly disease "continues to accelerate," the organization said. It could eventually hit 20,000 cases — more than six times what it is now. Plus, the actual number of affected individuals could be two to four times higher than what's currently being recorded.

"More than 40% of the total number of cases have occurred within the past 21 days. However, most cases are
concentrated in only a few localities," the health agency said in a statement.

The new numbers encompass Guinea,
Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.

A new outbreak in Congo, thought to be unrelated to the current outbreak in the aforementioned countries, was not
included in the statistics.

On Wednesday, the leader of the African Development Bank said that Ebola is causing major economic damage across West Africa.

"Revenues are down, foreign exchange levels are down, markets are not functioning, airlines are not coming in, projects are being cancelled, business people have left — that is very, very damaging,".

There are also talks that the current Ebola outbreak may affect about 20,000 persons before it can finally be fully controlled..
