EBOLA- WHAT IS THE BASIS FOR BATHING SALT AND WATER...?

Bathing Salt and Water has become a trend in Nigeria following rumours of its presumed benefits in preventing/curing Ebola Virus Infection...

It's no longer news that some West African Countries have been the major sufferers of this outbreak. In Nigeria, the Ebola Virus outbreak that was first identified in Lagos has caused a lot trendy topics, the most recent being, 'Bathing with Water and Salt'.

This idea started in the early hours of Friday, and has been a subject of discussion all over the country. However, the mechanism behind how this therapy works remains far-fetched.

Ideas have been provided.. Some persons say, 'it could be a cure' and Others 'a Placebo'..

A PLACEBO is a Medicine that is ineffective but may help to relieve a condition because the patient has faith in its powers. NEW DRUGS are tested against PLACEBO in clinical trials, the drug's effect is compared with the placebo response, which occurs even in the absence of a pharmacologically active substance in the Placebo...

The issue still remains bathing with salt and water has no known basis for its alleged use in curing Ebola infection.

As for us @Healthinfotainmentng we are saying to all Nigerians, USING SALT and WATER to bath has no medical basis.
