A 16-year-old who suffers from cystic fibrosis has been allowed to marry her young boyfriend after she expressed fears she didn't have long to live.
Iona Lindley revealed for the first time how she wed husband Laurie Kesteven, 18, last year because the couple were aware she faced a reduced life expectancy because of her illness.
'I knew I was in love. I felt so comfortable with Laurie,' said Iona, now 17.

'It was really important to me to get married because I don't know how long I have left.
'My mind does end up thinking about the future but I try not to let it worry me. I just wouldn't enjoy my life.'
Despite being in love the couple admitted having to convince their families to let them tie the knot, which was difficult at first.
Iona is telling her story now because she wants to bring attention to cystic fibrosis as an illness.
