A 10-month-old baby is recovering in a Rustenburg Provincial Hospital after he was bitten by a Mozambican spitting cobra.
It’s suspected the snake may have fallen from a thatched roof into the infant's cot while he was sleeping.
Social worker Berdine Venter says the boy is in a stable condition.
“They found the snake on the floor so they were able to give him the right anti-venom and he is receiving medical treatment.”
