HIV CURE -- 10 frightening facts about HIV/AIDS that you must know!!!! THE TRUTH...
By Ryan Inoyori.
Beneath the protection provided by antiretroviral drugs, the virus which causes AIDS remains incurable and drug therapy haven't reached all victims of HIV. There are several frightening truths about HIV/ AIDS that modern science watches closely before everything is too late.
1) Population of HIV Patients
According to the World Health Organisation or WHO, there
are 34 million people in the world that lives with HIV at the end of 2012 and about 10 million people had the access to antiretroviral therapy or ART. The tally does not cover individuals who didn't take HIV testing which clouds the true information of how many is carrying the deadly virus.
2) Nigeria Tops Ranking on HIV Counts
Another data pulled out by WHO is Nigeria's high ranking prevalence of people living with HIV which currently under ART. These people face discrimination everyday and challenge the government to take serious action on addressing HIV research, management and prevention.
3) HIV is Practical Invisible
HIV infection is relatively asymptomatic if not, non-specific
which duplicates symptoms of other illness commonly occur. Acute HIV infection lasts for several weeks with symptoms such as fever, swollen lymph nodes, inflammation of the throat, rash, muscle pain and mouth sores. However, these symptoms may indicate other diseases and usually goes away when practically ignored.
Due to the non-specific nature of HIV, an infected person may skip HIV testing and ignores possible contraction of the virus. Latent stage begins between two weeks after exposure and 20 years. During this phase, HIV is active within lymph nodes and starting to replicate then later on weakens the immune system leading to AIDS.
4) There is no Cure!
HIV research remains "zero" in terms curing or eliminating
the virus completely from the body. Management treatment under antiretroviral drugs only suppresses or control growth and reduces risk of transmitting the virus to others. However, there is no effective and safe way to kill or destroy the virus or infected cells inside the body.
5) Management can be Very Expensive
Antiretroviral drugs are available for HIV treatment but it may not come to your territory for free. Some areas in the globe cannot get access to ART while others have to take higher management to control the progression which is very expensive - someone might die from debt rather than the virus. WHO and CDC promotes prevention rather than going for treatment which is painful as well.
6) Antiretroviral Drugs Have Consequences
HIV treatment comes with several antiretroviral drugs, not a single pill to effectively control the virus. Aside from taking the cocktail combination, HIV can grow resistant to certain drugs which may force the patient to take more than three pills at a time. If you are confident in taking three, four or five pills and pay them without a problem, think about the consequences delivered by adverse effects which may include:
- Abdominal pain
- Anaemia
- Increased risk to heart attack
- Diarrhoea
- Vertigo
- Hepatitis
- Liver failure
- Oral ulcers
- Kidney failure
- Increase risk to certain cancers
7) Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome
Once left alone for several years, HIV can cause AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome which in layman's term - no immune system to defend against infection. AIDS stage lead death to a person even by the common cold since the body cannot fight it anymore. HIV primarily attacks a specific type of white blood cell which functions as killer among invaders, without it, AIDS would be a painful and torturing death.
8) Nobody is Immune against It
Homosexuals brought HIV in the old days due to alleged overall lifestyle, sexual preferences and practices. But the virus does not exclude heterosexuals and drug addicts who use syringes. HIV is transmittable via blood, semen, vaginal fluid and breastfeeding which include certain practices such as unprotected sexual intercourse, use of dirty needles not limited to syringes and multiple sexual partners, very dangerous as pathway for the virus.
9) Funding Still Cannot Support ART to Everyone
Billions over billions are being spent for HIV research and
prevention but ART is unable to cover everyone who has the virus. HIV testing itself on certain territories are still not free which makes it inaccessible to the poor. Most of the people are still uneducated, leading to ignorance about HIV.
10) More Mutation Can Threaten Modern Medicine
Modern medicine is hoping that HIV-1 and HIV-2 won't mutate to create another viral strain. Medical institution and groups are doing everything possible to contain, prevent and treat the virus to avoid another possible strain commonly characterised by viruses. Since there is no cure or vaccine yet, people are encouraged to help out stop the deadliest virus of the modern era.
Stop the discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS and see a zero level to new infections.. HIV infected people live in fear...

HEALTH GOSSIP: Here is a child who looks 8 times his age...
A 14-year-old boy who has the body of a 110-year-old could die in the next few years due to a rare disease which makes him age eight times faster than normal.
The Daily Mail reports Ali Hussain Khan, from Bihar in India, suffers from Progeria which causes rapid ageing and affects just 80 people worldwide.
The teenager, whose parents are first cousins, has seen five of his siblings die from the same condition.
Although sufferers are not expected to live much beyond the age of 14, Ali refuses to give up hope. "I very much want to live and I hope there is medicine for my condition out there. I'm not scared of death but my parents have suffered a lot," Ali said.
"I'd love to live much longer for them. I don't want to burden them with any more pain."
His siblings Rehana, Iqramul, Gudiya and Rubina have all died from Progeria between the ages of 12 and 24.
A fifth child, a boy who died within 24 hours of being born, is also thought to have had the rare condition.
Ali's father Nabi Hussain Khan, 50, said he would have stopped having children had doctors diagnosed the disease earlier.
"We never heard of the word Progeria, the doctors never mentioned it. They were stabbing in the dark; they were as clueless as us," Hussain Kahn, who also has two healthy daughters, said.
"If a doctor had perhaps told us that our children were suffering with some kind of genetic problem and we were connected we would've stopped having children. But nothing was said."
Many children with Progeria suffer from joint pain and hip
osteoarthritis.

HEALTH GOSSIP: Gov. Suntai Flown To Abuja Aboard A Private Jet
According to reports by SaharaReporters, the brain-damaged governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, left New York today on his way back to Abuja, Nigeria. He travelled on a private jet with his younger brother, a Nigeria senator, and some officials of the Nigerian High Commission in New
York and two medics.
SaharaReporters could not ascertain the exact time the ailing governor departed the United States, but reliable sources said he travelled aboard a jet equipped to handle medical emergencies. The jet will refuel in Dakar, Senegal, before flying to Abuja to arrive at about 9:00 am on Sunday morning.
Presidency sources said Mr. Suntai will neither address the press nor meet with anyone publicly at the international airport in Abuja before flying on another jet to Jalingo, the
Taraba State capital.
Observers say this confirms that the ailing governor, who suffers memory lapses and cannot speak coherently, will be heavily shielded from the public and the media.
Upon his arrival in Jalingo, Mr. Suntai will be flown directly
to Government House in a private helicopter he owns.
Under a plan hatched between Mrs. Suntai, Senator Bwacha and Plateau State governor Jonah Jang, Mr. Suntai is expected to send a letter to the State Assembly asking for a prolonged leave from office.
His loyalists calculate that after Suntai is seen signing the
letter under the ruse of being in full health, theoretically
ensuring his continuation in office as governor, he will return to the United States to continue his rehabilitation.
With that done, the current acting Governor will be made to revert to his position as Deputy Governor while Mr.Suntai's associates will run the state and take decisions on his behalf, including signing documents by which the sacking of commissioners by the acting governor will be reversed(thank God).
As has been consistently reported by SaharaReporters, Mr. Suntai's brain injuries from his October 2012 air crash, which were treated in Germany before he was evacuated to the United States, need constant expert care but he has made very little progress. His wife, closest aides and supporters have refused to admit the governor's incapacitation, and therefore prevented his deputy from assuming power as substantive governor.
Analysts point to similarities in the drama at the federal level during tenure of late president Umaru Yar'Adua when a corrupt cabal led by his wife held Nigeria hostage as he lay dying in a Saudi Arabian hospital.

HEALTH GOSSIP: He was born to survive, even Cancer!!!
7 Months ago when i heard that Vast(Nwachukwu Ozoilo) had Lyphoma(Cancer of the lymph nodes), i was distraught because he happens to be my favorite. I remebered being thought Lymphoma in Med. School, i immediately got a vivid knowlegde of what he was about to go through. The series of Chemotherapy, L.Ps( lumbar punctures and physiotherapy, and so on. I really felt sympathy for him. I kept on praying for him and to God be the glory last week he returned to Nigeria healthy and strong and unto what he knows how to do best.. I believe all His ' yori-yori' girls prayers must have been answered too (lol).. Well thats what you get when you've got good fans by your side...
In an interview Vast( my man) was asked some questions and the answers actually touched me and i wish to share it with you all...
1) What kept you through out that period?
What kept me going was God.
Before I went for the treatment, I saw myself dying slowly. We got the visa and contacted the Medical Doctor that attended to us. It was no doubt the handiwork of God. This doctor handles only cancer related cases. My family, my manager, partner and CEO were there for me. We travelled together. They made sure I was well taken care of, while my ordeal lasted.
Interestingly, when the picture I took while in the hospital leaked, I was reading the outpour of love, prayers and soothing words from my fans. Some of them even said, they would die if I die. Then the press guys were there for me. They were keeping tabs of my progress and informing my fans duly. All of these, did a whole lot in keeping me going. That's why I got the courage and I know that it has always been God, my family, the media and my fans.
2) What lessons did you learn?
--I learnt that life is very precious. No matter what you do and wherever you are, don't look down on anybody because you don't know who will help you tomorrow(#true talk)
--Another thing is that you don't have to be scared of death. You have to face the challenge. Live a normal life. If you are scared of death, you will die. At a point, when I got very scared, the sickness came in full force, but when I started picking courage, it subsided and I recovered.
Am just happy for Him... Thanks for being a source of strength to so many persons out there who are facing similar challenges.. Life is indeed Precious.. Nigerians Love You!!! But God loves you more!!!

HEALTH GOSSIP: Mystery HIV Porn Star now known!!!
Well! Well! Well! The mystery porn actress has been identified, in fact she made the confirmation herself. Her name is Cameron Bay, she tested positive for HIV. It was not a false positive, as was the case in 2011 when another HIV positive test temporarily shut down the porn industry.
Bay released a statement through the Free Speech Coalition, the industry trade group that mandates regular STD testing for performers:
"As difficult as this news is for me today, I am hopeful that
no other performers have been affected," she said in the statement. "I plan on doing everything possible to assist the medical professionals and my fellow performers. Following that, my long-term plan is to take care of myself and my health."
Bay's agent, Mark Schechter, said she is "obviously distraught" at the diagnosis but was cooperating with testing organizations to make sure all her partners are notified and tested. "Cameron has been a model citizen acting responsibly at this most difficult time," Schechter said through the Free Speech Coalition. "Her courage should be lauded."
Several media outlets have also reported that Sydney Leathers, made famous for coming forward as Anthony Weiner's latest sexting partner, was exposed to HIV while making the adult movie "Weiner and Me," because her co-star filmed with Bay.
However, Leathers'representatives told ABCNews.com that this is false.
Although Free Speech Coalition has said it is testing Bay's partners, and testing is almost complete, Leathers was not contacted, her representative said. When she reached out to Free Speech Coalition after reading the news, it told her she was not connected to Bay and did not need a new HIV test. Still, Leathers has undergone three HIV tests since making "Weiner and Me," her representative said. They were all negative.
Hmmnnn!!! I admire her bravery!! I just hope she won't be stigmatized!

HEALTH GOSSIP: Girl Declares ' please i need a BIGGER BREAST'!!!
Just some days ago we read about the story of a girl who just wanted a BIGGER breast but ended up in a coma. Well i guess some ladies aren't happy the way God created them(oops, pardon me).
A woman in Florida has started panhandling on the roadside -- not because she needs food or shelter, but because she wants BIGGER BREAST.
Christina Andrews first brought her "Not Homeless Need Boobs" sign to the intersection of W and Beverly streets Thursday.
"I just want bigger boobs," she told the station. She added, "People put out signs that they're homeless. I'm not … so I'm just being honest." Her breast intentions seem to be working. Andrews said she was surprised that people actually started donating to the cause."I thought people would just laugh and keep riding, but they're like hey here's some money," she said.
It's unclear what her operation would cost, but plenty of sites on the subject advertise implants for around $3,000. Andrews didn't say how much she's raised so far.
Wowww!!! So brave of her.. How many naija gals can do that..? I wonder if anyone will attempt giving her a kobo.. At least so Doctors can make money!!! I Love the Doctor life!! N̶̲̥̅̊☺ dull moment.. There is always a case even if you don't pray for one, people make one for themselves...lol..

HEALTH GOSSIP: Dead Woman comes back to life after 13 days of her funeral?
Whats with these stories of people resurrecting from the dead. Well i guess this one is bit weird.. Read for yourself!!!
A Philadelphia woman has shown up alive 13 days after her family buried her in an emotional service, USA.
Sharolyn Jackson, alive 13 days after her own funeral Sharolyn Jackson, 50, was laid to rest at Colonial Memorial
Park by her devastated family on August 3, following the Philadelphia Medical Examiner signing a death certificate and releasing a body believed to be hers. "I had to call my wife and give her the sad news over the phone you know, that they'd just found our daughter dead," her father Dave Minnie said.
But last Friday, Jackson showed up alive at a mental health facility in central Philadelphia. Her son, Travis, passed on the good news to her father, who was overjoyed. "You know you feel you're just about to get over it, that she's dead, then Travis comes here with the good news that she's alive," he said laughing.
Jackson was reported missing from her West Philadelphia home on July 18. When a body of a woman fitting her description was found on July 20 on a West Philadelphia street, officials thought it could be her.
A social worker who knows Jackson, and Travis, both identified pictures of the dead woman as the missing Jackson.
There is now an investigation underway into who is buried in the grave.
The Medical Examiner's Office then signed a death certificate, which allowed an undertaker to remove her body for funeral services and burial. 'They showed (Travis) black and white photos. "It looked like her," Minnie said. The Philadelphia Health Department insists all proper procedures were followed and, with two people, including a family member, identifying her, it was following protocol to hand over the body.
Her father Dave Minnieis thrilled his daughter is alive but he feels sad for the family of the unknown woman buried in Jackson's grave
An investigation has now been launched into whose body is
in fact buried in the grave thought to be Jackson's. Officials know the woman died from natural causes and her body was found on the street on July 20. They are seeking an order to exhume the body in an attempt to identify the woman. Minnie said that while he was thrilled to have his daughter back, he feel's great sorrow for the family whose loved one is buried at the gravesite.

HEALTH GOSSIP: Doctor Commits suicide in the most shocking way!!!
Definitely some bad news!!! As hard it is to believe that a Doctor would take his own life as oppose to his primary purpose of saving the esteemed lives others(including his), well i guess certains happen for a reason.
The Medical Director of City
Convalescent Clinic, Mr. Okereke
committed suicide this morning at his
residence, 13, Aliu Street, Kosofe by Ile-Iwe Bus-stop, Ketu, western Nigeria.
The body of the deceased was found by his wife dangling from the ceiling fan in one of the rooms of their two-storey building, which also houses a clinic. The reason why he took his life could not be ascertained as he did not leave any suicide note behind. According to a neighbour, they woke up this morning and heard people wailing from the clinic and when they got there the wife of the deceased, who wept uncontrollably, narrated how she discovered the lifeless body of her late husband hanging from the ceiling this morning."The wife of the deceased is yet to come to terms with the reality that her husband is no more. From what she said, her late husband left her in their room. And after waiting for a while, she decided to look for her husband only for her to find the lifeless body hanging from a ceiling fan in an adjoining room," the neighbour said.
Neighbours described the deceased as an easy going man who was always ready to treat ailing patients that come to the hospital. Most of them are still in shock as to why he committed suicide. According to reports, the deceased was married to his first wife for 10 years without her bearing him a child and had to marry the present wife who bore him the two kids he left behind. Attempts to speak with the Divisional Police Officer the Alapere Police Station proved abortive as correspondent was directed to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ngozi Braide. When Braide was contacted, she said she is yet to be briefed about what happened.
What could have prompted him to take his life this way.. May his soul rest in peace. Amen!!!

HEALTH GOSSIP: You won't Believe until You have read this!!!
As a Nigerian, among the many beautiful cities in the Giant Of Africa(Nigeria) is Abuja; the federal capital territory(FCT). It happens to be a place every nigerian wishes to live in. But this may surprise you!!! Recent survey has revealed that there are presently 24,376 female commercial sex workers, 1,234 male homosexuals and 195 intravenous drug
users in the Federal Capital Territory. Dr. Uche Okoro, Project Manager, FCT Agency for Control of HIV/AIDS (FACA), revealed this when a World Bank team yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Secretary FCT Health Secretariat in his office. He said the figures are a result of a recent survey of Most At Risk Population (MART) conducted by the FCT Administration and funded by the World Bank.
In his remarks, FCT Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr. Ademola Onakomaiya said the FCTA is determined to provide health care services based on quality, equity and sustainability. He solicited for more financial and technical assistance from the World Bank because, according to him, the FCTA cannot do it alone, adding that there is commitment to zero tolerance for HIV/AIDS, which is being treated free in government hospitals in the territory. World Bank Director, Human Development, Ritva Reinika, in her comments, said one of the ways of providing assistance is the engagement of civil society organizations, who are close to HIV/AIDS risk groups.

HEALTH GOSSIP: Dead Man Comes back To life after He was declared Dead!!!
There is this saying that ' the Doctor only treats and God heals (cures). However, as a Doctor there are some things that you may think are not possible and in such cases you just rely on your own knowledge. Well, i bet this story is about to change that perception!!!
When 17-year-old Lawrence Yahle learned his father was dead earlier this month at Kettering Medical Center in Ohio, he ran down the hall to see nurses around his father's body. They weren't trying to revive him anymore.
Distraught, Lawrence pointed and shouted, "Dad, you're not going to die today." Moments later, Anthony Yahle's heart monitor showed signs of life, Dr. Raja Nazir, his cardiologist at Kettering Medical Center, told ABCNews.com. It wasn't a regular heart beat, but once or twice a minute, the monitor would pick up tiny electrical movements. "When I looked at the electrical activity, I was surprised," Nazir said. "I thought we'd better make another effort to revive him." Nazir gave one of Yahle's hanging medicine bags a squeeze to restore his blood pressure and the team began working on him again. "Very slowly, the heart rate was picking up," Nazir said.
That was more than a week ago, on Aug. 5. Doctors thought Yahle, a 37-year-old diesel mechanic, would need a heart transplant or be in a vegetative state the rest of his life, but he's home resting and seems fine.
"I'm calling it a miracle because I've never seen anything like it," Nazir said. Yahle's near-death experience started at 4 a.m. that day, when his wife, Melissa Yahle, woke up and realized his breathing didn't sound right. Melissa, who has been a nurse for seven years, said she tried unsuccessfully to wake him up. Melissa and Lawrence performed CPR until an ambulance could arrive, and first responders found a heartbeat after shocking Yahle several times.
At the hospital, doctors expected Yahle's arteries to be clogged, but they were clear. Things were looking positive until later that afternoon, when Yahle's heart stopped. He "coded" for 45 minutes as doctors tried to revive him, but eventually Nazir realized it was time to call the time of death. "We looked at each other," Nazir said. "We'd given him all the medicine we had in our code cart. At some point, you have to call it off." Nazir said he wasn't sure exactly how long Yahle was "dead," before Lawrence ran down the hall to tell his father he couldn't die that day. "Suddenly that trickle of a thing came back," Nazir said.
"We were lucky we saw and reacted to it, and that brought him back."
Nazir said it was "mind boggling." Melissa said she, Lawrence and the people from their church who were praying with them witnessed a miracle. Yahle was transferred to Ohio State University, and he returned home to West Carrollton on Aug. 10 with a defibrillator in his chest. He doesn't remember any of the
experience after he went to bed on Aug. 4. "He doesn't have one broken rib," Melissa said. "He's not sore. These are things that just clinically don't happen."
Yahle is set to go back to work on Monday, and doctors may do a heart biopsy to find out more about what
happened.
Indeed Miracles do happen!!!! Please leave your comments below.. Thanks

A 36-year old man, Chigbo Ebo and his wife, Charity Ebo, 26, has been arrested and arraigned in court by the police for allegedly engaging their neighbour, Nneka Onwuatuegwu, 25yrs, in both oral and real sex in their home in Lagos State.
The 25-year old Nneka alleged that she was sexually assaulted by the couple whom she alleged fondled her breasts and inserted their fingers into her private part without her consent. The victim admitted in the open court that the couple lured her to their house where they gave her alcohol to drink and started fondling and sucking her breasts and private part and thereafter the man penetrated her. She said she woke up while they were carrying out the act and discovered that she was naked and her private part was wet with semen from the man. Nneka said she went to Agboju Police Division and reported that she was raped and the police arrested the man and his wife. She allegedly told the police that Charity inserted her finger into her private part and sucked her breasts as well, while Chigbo, her husband, not only sucked her breasts and fingered her private part, but also raped her.
The incident happened in their Abule-Ado home where both the complainant and defendants reside.
The suspects were charged before Apapa Magistrate's Court presided over by Magistrate H. O. A. Amos, for allegedly engaging the victim in a sexual act without her consent.
Part of the charge reads: "That you Chigbo Ebo and Charity Ebo on the same date, time and place did sexually touch Nneka Onwuatuegwu on her breasts and private part without her consent. The second count also said the defendants lured the complainant into sexual activity without her consent. They pleaded not guilty and the court granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum. The matter was adjourned till when the court would resume from vacation.
Could it be that the lady (charity) is a lesbian or the man is N̶̲̥̅̊☺ longer enticed by his young wife of 26 years? So awful!!! Please leave your comments below...

HEALTH GOSSIP: Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu's surgery successful!!!
If you did not know Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, one of the leaders of the newly registered All Progressives Congress had issues with his knee. Oh yes!!!! It was due to previous sports injury on one of his knees and recent further aggravation on the knee from rigorous political and family related activities(wow), he was thus advised by his doctors, despite his persistent reluctance that orthopedic surgery is necessary at this time", said the statement.
Consequently, he travelled to the United States for the surgery. A knee cap surgery happens to be a very delicate one for the orthopaedic surgeons due to its risks. To God be the Glory the surgery was successfully carried about 3 days ago. He is presently being monitored to ensure full recovery. Reports has it that some of his associates have been visiting him in the US to wish him speedy recovery.
What better way to prepare for the days ahead.. You know--so much campaigning..lol. But why was the surgery done abroad, when we have good orthopaedic surgeons in naija??? Hmmmm!!!!

HEALTH GOSSIP: ADULT Film industry stops production after A FEMALE Performer tested HIV positive!!!!
An Adult Film-making industry in San Fernando in California announced a monatorium(ban)on the making of Porn Videos after a female performer tested HIV positive.
This industry happens to be a very lucrative one thus prompting individuals to endulge in it. However, being an actor or actress carries a whole lot of risk considering the fact that you come in contact with various kinds of people(hmmnn yes a lot of people). However, measures are taken to ensure that performers are disease free( such as HIV, syphilis, and the likes). But Check this out, being a lucrative business and also a career for some performers, they can go any length to hide their results so as allow them continue performing. Last year, a porn star Mr Marcus,42, was discovered to have altered his positive syphilis result so as to continue performing. And in June of this year, Mr. Marcus was convicted of knowingly exposing two co-stars to syphilis and sentenced to 30 days in jail. Considering the large number of people( teens, youths, old- name it), it shows that one infected individual can lead to the infection a large number of persons.
Consequently, the porn industry imposed a 10-day moratorium in August
while actors were treated and tested for the potentially lethal disease.
This to ensure safety for other performers and also to ensure that business can continue as usual soon.
The question is this- Despite how much is done to ensure performers safety, if you were given an opportunity to earn big time, will you become an Adult movie star?

HEALTH NEWS: Nigerian Health set to begin strike!!!
Health workers strike Nigeria - Workers at Nigerian government's tertiary health institutions are due to begin an indefinite, nation-wide strike midnight Wednesday to protest government's failure to accede to their demand for better remuneration.
M9TD6QRK5QBB
The Joint Health Sector Unions, coordinators of the strike, said its directive for the strike to commence followed the expiration of a 21-day ultimatum issued to government to meet the demands and implement the agreement reached 10 May last year. A last-ditch effort to avert the strike by the government, through a meeting called on Monday, failed. Teachers at the nation's public universities have also been on strike for many weeks to press for improved remuneration, thus paralysing academic activities at the
institutions. Nigerian workers' unions regularly resort to strikes to press their demand for better work conditions.
Just yesterday the ASUU and FG of Nigerian met to negotiate their terms so as to come to an aggreement but all to N̶̲̥̅̊☺ avail. And today the health workers!!! Hmmnnn!!! What is your take on this?

CRIME STORY: Priest dupes woman, Has sex with her so as to cast out demons!!!
A Guangzhou man purporting to be a Taoist priest defrauded a woman of 20,000 yuan after convincing her to have sex with him to "exorcise demons".
According to Haizhu district police, on July 23 a man,
surnamed Huang, visited a feng shui store and struck up a conversation with the sales assistant Xin (pseudonym). After a brief display of what sounds like basic cold-reading, Huang convinced Xin that he had supernatural powers and
told her he was a Master Dragon Seeker. Huang also introduced Xin to his female disciple, Youxin, a
"female geomancer". On July 30, Youxin and Xin met for tea.
After Xin confessed an unrequited love for an older man, Youxin told her to book a room at a nearby hotel, specifically Room A12 on the 4th floor as that was where
the "chi" was most powerful.
"We've done many rituals there before," Youxin said. After
she had taken a shower, Xin was told to put on some lingerie. "This way, we can see what's in your body", said Youxin. After examining her the "geomancer" told Xin that someone had put a curse on her and that "only my master can set you free".After the "Master Dragon Seeker" arrived he told Xin that the person she was in love with had placed a curse upon her.FFUDEG9XWD4B.
Xin and Huang began negotiating the cost of the ritual hewould perform, with the sales assistant settling on the cheapest ritual at a bargain price of 32,000 yuan. Xin admitted that she could only afford 20,000 yuan however, so Huang "convinced" Youxin to loan her the remaining 12,000. Xin was told she had to pay back the loan within 49 days or the ghost would come back to haunt her. Ghosts are sticklers for things like that. When she arrived at Huang's house the following day, Xin was reportedly too freaked out to sleep (the ritual apparently required that she be asleep) so she was given sleeping pills which she gulped down with a bottle of beer. Xin was again made to shower (ghosts hate cleanliness) and then dress in the lingerie Huang had chosen. The only way to exorcise the demon was to have sex with the priest.Though Huang was adamant that they weren't having sex as he had a condom on.
Xin would later tell police that Huang claimed to have exorcised the evil spirit in under five minutes. "He also claimed to have been a virgin and had never touched women before, so the entire ritual was a huge sacrifice for him," she said. Feeling like she might have been duped, Xin confided in her boss. When the two arrived at the conman's apartment they found that he had vanished.
Youxin was also out of contact. Huang was apprehended by police on August 1, after which he claimed not to have had sex with Xin. "We Taoist priests are not allowed to do such things. If you don't believe me, we can get a doctor to check. I have very severe diabetes and have long been impotent. I'm also almost blind," Huang said. Pressed for information on the exorcism itself, Huang said that there were some things that "metaphysics and science cannot explain".

I wanted a ONLY BIGGER BREAST but Now My Life is threatened!!!!
Dont't rush to start jugding!!!!
A teenage girl is fighting for her life after undergoing a breast augmentation procedure from medical professionals with questionable credentials.
Linda Perez, 18, was in surgery at the Coral Gables Cosmetic Center Monday morning when something went wrong and she was transported to a nearby intensive care unit where she remains in a coma, according to NBC 6.
The family told the news station that the center has not provided any information as to what caused their daughter, who has a 3-year-old, to suffer brain damage. "What they gave me was my daughter as a vegetable," mother Mariela Diaz said. CBS Miami reports that the anesthesiologist Dr. Mario Alberto Diaz served time in federal prison in 2006 for illegally dispensing at least 53,000 doses of pain pills over the Internet, and had his Florida medical license suspended
for six months.2BTVBX9NPSF.

HEALTH NEWS: FG Banns sale of Drug in Open Market...!!!
The Federal Government, yesterday, announced that from June 30, 2014, drugs would no longer be sold in the open market in Nigeria, declaring an emergency in drug distribution system in the country to address the chaotic situation. Consequently, the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has introduced State and Mega Drug Distribution Centres, SMDDCs, to tackle challenges posed by the present drug distribution system in the country. Speaking at a stakeholders' sensitisation meeting, ahead of the commissioning of Megacentre pharmaceuticals Limited, Onitsha, the Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, said the uncoordinated drug distribution in Nigeria had posed a big challenge to the pharmaceutical sector. He said fake, adulterated and sub-standard drugs in circulation constituted a threat to the healthcare delivery system.
Represented by the Director, National Drug Policy Programme, Mrs. Joyce Ugwu, Chukwu traced the present
uncoordinated drug distribution in the country to import liberalisation in the early 80's which allowed all manners of people to import drugs into the country. Lamenting that Nigeria was still faced with challenges of illegal open drug markets, he announced that the present States' Central Medical Stores, CMSs, could be used as the take-off hubs for the newly introduced State Drug Distribution Centres, SDDCs. He said: "The main attraction of the new National Drug Distribution Guidelines is that drugs will no longer be sold in open market with effect from June 30, 2014, as manufacturers and importers will channel drugs to only SDDCs, MDDCs and other channels in the provisions of the guidelines, while defaulters will face varying degrees of sanctions. Healthcare facilities at all levels, including private facilities, are guided by the guidelines in their drug procurement activities in order to avoid the current practice that is lacking in professionalism.
Corroborating, the Director-General, NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, said: "We have not really had an effective way of sanitizing drug distribution in Nigeria and that remains a major challenge. While the new guideline provides a distribution channel which would help identify sources of drugs at every level of healthcare and create orderliness in drug distribution system, this move will ameliorate the chaotic nature in the present drug distribution system which encourages sales and distribution of sub standard medicines in open drug market among genuine brands."

HEALTH GOSSIP: Fake Nigerian Doctors have been arrested following a woman's death!!!
Nigerian police have arrested two fake doctors accused of causing the deaths of "many" women during childbirth or surgery at a clinic they ran for three years, a spokeswoman said on Monday.
Authorities have closed the clinic in. Nigeria's largest city, Lagos, after learning about it through a tip off from local residents, police spokeswoman Ngozi Braide told AFP. "Two men who claimed to be doctors at the hospital, known as Cares hospital, in the Iba area of the city, were arrested last week. Their arrest followed a tip off from residents about their illegal activities," she said. "Our investigations revealed that many women have died following the illegal and criminal activities of these men." Police declined to say how many women had died from their treatment, saying only that the investigation was continuing.Braide said the suspects, who were not qualified doctors, had been carrying out illegal operations and surgeries on pregnant women at the clinic for the past three years. "The hospital is not registered and there is no record to show that the suspects attended any medical school. They were simply operating an illegal hospital," she said. Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, suffers widespread fraud and there have been previous cases of Nigerians posing as doctors both at home and abroad.Authorities have also struggled to reduce the number of fake medication being sold.
Operation clean up nigeria's Health sector...Lol!!!

HEALTH GOSSIP: The Extent a Man can go to satisfy his sexual dessires...
Doctors have removed a 10cm long steel fork from inside a man's penis, after a sexual adventure went horribly wrong. The 70-year-old visited Canberra Hospital's emergency department complaining of bleeding genitalia. He then promptly admitted that he had inserted a piece of cutlery into his urethra in an attempt to pleasure himself. Unfortunately the attempt backfired and it became stuck, leaving him in considerable pain. Despite this, it took him 12 hours to pluck up the courage to seek medical help.
The fork was so firmly lodged inside the man's body thatdoctors could not initially see the cause of the discomfort, according to the report in The International Journal of Surgery. However, once it had been located,'multiple retrieval methods were contemplated with success achieved via forceps traction and copious lubrication.'In most cases embarrassed patients attempted to retrieve the item themselves, risking injury and foreign body
migration.
The real danger was infection leading to death, because ashamed patients often delay medical treatment, they said.Doctors generally try to avoid surgery in such situations, instead choosing an option that would minimise trauma and preserve erectile function.
According to the report, typical symptoms after having
inserted a foreign object into the male urethra include lower abdominal pain, penile pain, swelling of glans or body of penis, inflammation of the urethra, dyspareunia (pain
during sex), blood-stained urine, pyuria (pus in urine),increased urinary frequency, inability to urinate and fever.
In my own opinion as one in the Medical field, such cases are more of psychological, however considering the man's age it becomes quite a funny and unexpected incident. At 70, it is expected that a man's sexual urge should have declined by greater than 75%, so to have an elderly man do this it definitely should be a psychological issue..
What is your opinion about this? Please leave your comments below.. Thanks..

Restrictions on HIV infected health workers has been removed says the NHS in UK!!!
Surgeons, dentists, midwives and other healthcare workers who have HIV are to be allowed to perform all kinds of procedures on patients, following the lifting of an outdated ban that led in some cases to the loss of careers and livelihoods.
It is more likely that somebody will be struck by lightning than be infected with HIV by their doctor or dentist, said chief medical officer Dame Sally Davies as she announced the change of policy.
HIV levels in the blood of those on modern combination drug therapy are too low for the virus to be transmissible. There are only four known examples of a healthcare worker infecting a patient, none of them in the UK, and in every case, the doctor or dentist was not on drug treatment.
Attitudes in society need to change, said Davies, and we have moved on from the 1980s when Aids was always lethal and the infamous government advertising campaign warned the population about the dangers of the disease. "I remember as a young doctor seeing the reports and I think a lot of that is what has stuck in the public memory," she said.
Today we should no longer be talking about people who are "HIV infected" and under "a death sentence", she said. People on drug treatment can now live as long as anybody else, with as good a quality of life and the certainty that they will not infect their partners, she said. "I worry that the public has not caught up with the reality of HIV treatment. The issue is – are people who are infected infective or not, rather than are they infected or not."
Restrictions were imposed on doctors, nurses and dentists with HIV in 1993. Anyone with HIV was banned from carrying out treatments or surgery inside a patient's body where their fingertips or hands were at any point not visible - because they would not be able to see if they had cut themselves and were bleeding. The ban meant some surgeons had to change their practice, but dentists invariably had to give up their careers.
Allan Reid became one of them after he was HIV diagnosed in 2007. Knowing back then that medical treatment prevented the virus being transmitted to patients by medical staff with HIV, he was reluctant to give up dentistry, but somebody he had told in confidence sold the story to the Sun newspaper. He lost his career and then his home. "I couldn't pay my mortgage. I'd recently bought a home and spent a fortune doing it up. It was for my retirement," he said. He could not get a job because he had to explain why he was no longer a dentist – and the stigma of HIV ensured that he was turned down by employers.
He had a small amount of savings and the support of friends who were outraged by what had happened. With their help, he went on to study public health and is now a specialist registrar in Birmingham.
Having to leave dentistry was far worse than the diagnosis, he said. "It really defines you as a person – it is who you are – you are Allan the dentist. Dealing with the loss of that was [like] a real bereavement."
Reid campaigned for an end to restrictions surrounding HIV and healthcare. In 2005, two years before his condition was diagnosed, there had been a review, he said. It was known that treatment prevented transmission even then, but no change in the policy was made. "I just hope the Department of Health will give support to healthcare workers who have lost their livelihoods as a result," he said. Those who want to should now be able to retrain and return.
The UK is now catching up with the rest of the world. Only four countries still impose restrictions on healthcare workers with HIV. A working group formed in 2007 to consider changing the rules for the UK and advised the government in 2011 that it should be done, but changes will not come into effect until next year.
"I think there is still a lot of fear around HIV and a lot of misunderstanding about HIV," said Deborah Jack of the National Aids Trust, who was a member of the advisory group. "This announcement is based on good scientific evidence, but I think there will still be unnecessary anxiety amongst people."
She said she hoped the policy change would be an opportunity to educate two groups of people – those who were afraid of HIV because of what they learned in the 1980s and the younger generation who knew little about it.
Healthcare workers with HIV will face no restrictions but must be on a register and monitored every three months by doctors to ensure they are on the correct treatment and that their viral load is undetectable. There may now be about 110 healthcare workers with HIV working in the NHS, said Davies, but it is possible others may not have been tested because they realise the dire implications for their career. Lifting the restrictions will enable those people to be tested and treated, which will mean that they no longer pose any sort of risk to patients.
Davies also announced the lifting of a second ban, on the sale of HIV self-testing kits in the UK. It is hoped that this will encourage more people to find out their HIV status. It is estimated that 100,000 people in the UK are infected with HIV, but a quarter do not know that they are carrying the virus. Unless they are tested and treated, they can transmit it to others.
Is the same done in Nigeria? Despite the fact that only about four countries still have restrictions on health workers!!!

Crime Story: Landlord shoots tenant for having an affair with his wife.... Men are not Smilin!!! one man one woman!!!
36-year-old, Waheed Oyatunde, recently escaped
death after he was shot in the thigh by his landlord
identified as Mr Latunji over his affair with the
landlord's wife.
Latunji owns a block of flats at Ketu Adie Owe area of Ado
Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, which he
let out to tenants. Oyatunde, a native of Abeokuta, the
Ogun State capital, moved into Mr. Latunji's house about
three years ago after he completed his youth service and
got employment with an Agbara, Ogun State-based
multinational company.
The landlord is a member of the vigilance group in the
area. Latunji's wife, Ireti, runs a canteen in Agbara where
Oyatunde works.
Oyatunde, a bachelor, always gave the landlord's wife a
ride in his car to Agbara every morning since his office is
close to the woman's canteen. This he was doing with the
blessing and approval of the landlord. Ireti is said to have
been married to the landlord for six years but is yet to be
blessed with the fruit of the womb.
Trouble started in the Latunji family sometime in April,
2013 when it was reported that Oyatunde and Mrs. Latunji
were dating. When news of the amorous relationship with
his wife got to Mr. Latunji, he confronted his tenant with
the rumour.
According to neighbours, when Mr. Latunji confronted
Oyatunde with the allegation that he was dating his wife,
the matter almost degenerated into an exchange of
fisticuffs between the landlord and his tenant until some
elders in the area intervened.
Since then, Oyatunde has stopped giving the woman daily
morning rides to Agbara. Mr. Latunji's wife, however, did
not take kindly to being accused of dating her husband's
tenant. She reported the mater to her in-laws, who
prevailed on her husband to put the allegations behind
him.
However, according to neighbours, even though Oyatunde
had stopped taking his landlord's wife to Agbara in his car,
the rumour mill was still agog with allegations of an
amorous relationship between Oyatunde and his landlord's
wife.
The story was that the bachelor was always seen with his
landlord's wife at some hotels in parts of Lagos State,
especially on weekends. The bubble finally burst on
Saturday, July 20, 2013, when Mrs. Latunji informed her
husband that she would be travelling with her friend to
Ekiti State for a burial ceremony.
A day before that fateful Saturday, Mr. Latunji had
reportedly called his wife's friend to confirm their
purported movement to Ekiti, which the woman confirmed.
But it later turned out that the Ekiti trip was a hoax after
all.
The landlord's wife left home early on Saturday morning
for the purported weekend trip. Her suspicious husband
hired three hoodlums to trail her movement. The three
hoodlums rode on two motorcycles behind the bus the
woman boarded from Lusada junction to Agbara. It was
reported that the woman also boarded another bus from
Agbara to Mile 2 area of Lagos State and the 'spies' still
rode behind the bus the woman boarded.
Eventually, Mrs. Latunji reportedly found her way to a
hotel in Surulere area in the heart of Lagos State. It was
reported that Oyetunde's car was also found in the parking
lot of the hotel. The hired 'spies' promptly informed their
client on telephone of the development.
An enraged Mr. Latunji left home and headed for the hotel
in Lagos. A couple of hours later, he arrived at the hotel
and he told the receptionist he was on appointment with
owner of the Hyundai car parked at the lot.
A waiter at the hotel, who spoke with Saturday Mirror on
condition of anonymity, continued the story, "When the
man came that Saturday morning, he approached the boys
at the reception that he wanted to see the owner of the
car whose plate number he wrote for them.
When asked to call him on his mobile phone, the man
claimed that the visitor's mobile phone was switched off.
So, the boys felt that he was a genuine visitor and one of
them chose to take him to the room where the visitor
lodged.
"When the boy knocked on the door, the visitor came to
open the door. And when he did, he was shocked to see
his landlord standing right in front of the door.
The landlord's wife was on the bed sleeping. That was
when trouble started." Mr. Latunji forced his way into the
room and aimed a stool at his wife.
But Oyatunde and the hotel attendant prevented Mr.
Latunji from hitting his wife with the stool. The noise from
the room soon attracted other workers of the hotel to the
scene. After much persuasion, Mr. Latunji was whisked out
of the hotel and he left for his house.
Both Oyatunde and Ireti hurriedly left the hotel. The
woman has not shown her face back home since then.
Knowing that the game was up, Oyatunde went to his
apartment in Latunji's house on Tuesday, July 23, 2013,
apparently to move his belongings out of the house.
That was the opportunity Latunji had been waiting for.
Once Oyatunde opened the door to his apartment and
started packing his property, Latunji burst into the
apartment and engaged Oyatunde in a fight.
The brawling men were soon separated by neighbours,
only for Latunji to rush into his apartment and emerge
moments later with a loaded gun. He aimed at Oyatunde's
thigh and pulled the trigger.
A neighbour, who pled anonymity, said Oyatunde was
lucky to have lived to tell the story. "The landlord could
have killed the man. But we thank God that did not
happen," the neighbour said. Oyatunde was rushed to an
undisclosed hospital. The landlord has since fled his house
with a 10-year-old son he had from another relationship.
Saturday Mirror could not get Ogun State Police Command
spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi to confirm the story. A source
at the Eleweran office of the command claimed that the
matter was reported but that he had no details of it.

HEALTH: Breakthrough in Malaria has been made!!!
An experimental malaria vaccine called PfSPZ is showing promise after it was found to have blocked the disease in early clinical trials, according to a new study published by Science magazine on Thursday.
Researchers are calling the vaccine a breakthrough while also cautioning that PfSPZ isn't ready for prime time just yet.
The vaccine, which is made using a weakened form of the disease, was administered in varying doses to a group of more than three dozen volunteers.
Six people, each of whom were given a full five doses of the vaccine, were unable to contract malaria when exposed to the disease, the study says(amazing)
This is the first time any vaccine has achieved 100% effectiveness in any trial, researchers report.
Nine others were given four doses of PfSPZ, three of whom became infected in the trial.
Of another 12 who took part in the trial but weren't given the vaccine, 11 contracted malaria, the study says.
The trial - which included testing handled by the National Institutes of Health, the US Army, and the US Navy - is a first step in figuring out just how safe and effective the vaccine might be.
For one thing, PfSPZ needs to be tested on a greater number of people, and researchers aren't sure as of yet how long the vaccine will be effective for.
The vaccine is also only currently available by way of intravenous injection (IV), which makes it more difficult to get to people than a shot or a pill.
Huge potential, But Certainly Questions Remain
Still, Stephen Hoffman, the CEO of the biotech company that developed PfSPZ, is hopeful.
"We have demonstrated for the first time in the history of malaria that one can completely protect individuals against malaria infected mosquitos," he told NPR.
According to CNN, Malaria infects more than 200 million people each year, and it claimed the lives of 660,000 in 2010.
The disease is particularly rampant in developing nations. From here, Hoffman's company, Sanaria, will test out the vaccine in larger trials in Tanzania and other parts of Africa, NPR said.
If all goes well, the earliest PfSPZ could make it to market would be late 2017 or early 2018, Hoffman said.

HEALTH: Baby born with 4 limbs successfully operated in Adamwa state, NIgeria.. Amazing!!!
The two-months-old girl who was born with a rare congenital defect called "dipygus" (having small extra legs between the normal legs) has been successfully operated upon by doctors at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.
The girl was born in Konkol community of Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa, where the residents think she is a spirit. The baby was subsequently moved to Yola, the Adamawa State capital for treatment.
Renowned paediatric surgeon, Professor Awwal Abubakar, who led the team of doctors that performed the surgery, described it as successful, saying "We are happy to report that the baby is doing well, but will require periodic monitoring as she grows."
Mr. Abubakar said the surgery, which lasted for about two hours, involved a team of doctors, surgeons, and nurses, and was considered an accomplishment by the hospital.
He advised Nigerians to report such birth defects to medical experts and not be unnecessarily superstitious.
"We need to actually sensitize our communities to accept that this problem will be tackled and those babies are going to live normal life. So there is no need to deny them access to good medical care," he said.
He commended the management of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, for bearing the cost of the surgery, with the hope that the gesture would be sustained.
The joyous father of the yet to be named baby, Mani Margi, praised Allah for saving the life of his first child.
"I am in short of words, praise be to lord, for saving the life of my only born baby. For the doctors and FMC, I have nothing to utter, but may Allah reward them abundantly," he said.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Aliyu Danburam, said that in a bid to assist the needy, the centre introduced a social welfare unit that has assisted several people.
The director, who spoke through the hospital's spokesman, Adamu Dodo, said the hospital management took charge of the cost of the surgery.
"The Social welfare scheme in collaboration with other religious organizations has assisted dozens of such patients that are in critical condition. It was aimed at putting hope and smile on their faces, as you can see today," he said.
